 Ratul Puri
Chairman, Moser Baer Projects Pvt Ltd
Ratul Puri is the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Moser Baer Projects Pvt Ltd. (MBPPL). He lends strategic direction to the company’s overall management, business development and growth. He is an alumnus of Carnegie Mellon, the Pittsburgh-based global research university. Under his guidance, the company is one of the fastest growing integrated power companies in India, operating across a synergetic span of Thermal, Hydel and Solar verticals offering end-to-end services (Power Generation, Power Trading, Engineering Procurement Commissioning, etc.) in its areas of operations.
Ratul has led the company as one of the largest solar farm developers in Asia. It was under his able leadership that Moser Baer Clean Energy has commissioned Asia’s first and the then largest 30 MW solar farm in Gujarat recently. The company currently plans to commission 6,020 MW of power over the next few years comprising of 5,000 MW of thermal, 500 MW of solar and 520 MW of hydro to emerge as a leading player in the India energy sector. Additionally, the company is also developing over 6,100 MW of capacity using conventional and non-conventional energy sources in India, Europe, and the USA.
  Awadh Bihari Giri
CEO, Hydro
Awadh Bihari Giri is CEO, Hydro, Moser Baer Projects Private Ltd. A mechanical engineer with a Masters in Business Administration from XLRI, Jamshedpur, he brings with him more than 40 years of industry experience. It was under his leadership that the Malana Hydro Electric Project was completed in record time of 30 months. Awadh was the founder Chairman cum Managing Director of Uttaranchal Jal Vidyut Nigam Ltd
Birendra Kumar Sinha
President, Coal
As President, Coal for Moser Baer Projects Private Ltd, Birendra Kumar Sinha brings over 36 years of extensive experience to the Group. He is an alumnus of Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad and has held various key positions in coal mining industry in India. Prior to joining the Company, Birendra was the Chairman cum Managing Director of South Eastern Coalfields
 Lajpat Shrivastav
CEO, Thermal
Lajpat Shrivastav is CEO, Thermal, Moser Baer Projects Private Ltd. A mechanical engineer with a Masters in Business Administration, he brings with him more than 38 years of experience in the Thermal Power Sector across power plant design, engineering and implementation of projects. Lajpat has held leadership positions at various public and private sector organizations including Chambal Infrastructure Ventures Limited and Tata’s transmission line business. He handled execution of large capacity projects and worked in various capacities covering technical, business development, project development and engineering.
 Rajya Wardhan Ghei
CEO - India Solar Business
Rajya W. Ghei is CEO - India Solar Business, Moser Baer Projects Private Ltd. He has experience of more than 20 years in setting up and heading business units in leading corporates like Avery India, Honda Motorcycle & Scooters, Honda Siel etc before joining the Group in June 2001. He holds a Masters Degree in Human Relations and diploma in Law.
At Moser Baer, Mr. Ghei has been instrumental in setting up and heading the HR function for the group , before taking up the current position. He is in-charge of developing both large and small scale ground mounted solar farms in India. Under his able guidance, Moser Baer Clean Energy has achieved the distinction of setting up India’s first 5 MW solar farm. His approach of building large portfolio across States is paying dividends as the company has commissioned 45 MW farms in Gujarat during 2011.
 Lalit Jain
CEO - Wind & International Solar
Lalit Jain brings in more than 14 years of experience on Project Development, Project Financing, Asset Management and M&A. Prior to joining MBPPL, he has served as Director at OptiSolar Inc., USA. Lalit has also held senior positions at El Paso Corporation, USA, CRISIL and L&T. He has served as Director on boards of several power generating companies in India, Bangladesh and Philippines
 Arun Kanchan
CEO, New Business
Mr. Arun Kanchan has joined as Chief Executive Officer for New Business. He has a B.Tech. degree from IIT, Kanpur and Masters in Engineering from McMaster University, Canada. Prior to joining Moser Baer Projects, Arun was working with Reliance Infrastructure Ltd. responsible for BSES Rajdhani Power Ltd. and BSES Yamuna Power Ltd. as Director & CEO.
He has diversified experience in power, telecom, electronic components and computer industries. In a career span of nearly 32 years, he has served as CEO of Surat Electricity Company Ltd., MD of Torrent Cables Ltd., Director & CEO of Usha India Ltd., besides having worked with Vikas Hybrids Ltd., DCM Data System Ltd., India Telecom Ltd., and Uptron India Ltd.
 Dr. Harish Ahuja
President (Strategy & Corporate Affairs)
Dr. Harish Ahuja is the President (Strategy & Corporate Affairs) at Moser Baer Projects Private Ltd. Dr. Ahuja, Civil servant of 1997 batch (Union Territory) during the last 14 years has served in many departments of Andaman & Nicobar Islands & Delhi in various administrative capacities. Academically, he was awarded Ph. D by IIT, Delhi in 2009 for his pioneering research work in Power sector reforms. He completed M. Tech from IIT, Delhi and graduated in B. Tech (Mechanical) from NIT, Raipur, Chhattisgarh. Dr. Ahuja has also pursued one year post graduate program in Applied Finance from IIM, Kolkata in year 2006-07.
Prior to joining Moser Baer Projects, Dr. Ahuja was posted as Joint Secretary, Department of Power, Government of Delhi. Previous to that, he was stationed as Director (Finance & Law) in Joint Electricity Regulatory Commission for Union Territories & State of Goa, Ministry of Power, Govt. of India. His various stints in the last six years have been in the ‘power sector’.
Power markets, Energy risk management & Strategic
planning of entire value chain of Power sector i.e.
regulation, generation, transmission, distribution &
trading are his areas of expertise.
He has also authored the book “Reforming Power Sector Reforms: Multiple
Conflicts, Democratic Solution” which has received rave
reviews.
